Liver Pâté Bites with Boreal Berry Garnish

Ingredients
  • 24 store-bought mini-pastry or hors-d’oeuvre shells
  • 1 – 150 g (⅓ lb.) package of duBreton Boreal Liver Pâté
  • Fresh herbs or sprouts

 

Boreal berry sprea

  • 250 mL (1 c.) of berries of choice (sea buckthorn berries, cranberries, blueberries, ground cherries, haskap berries, etc.)
  • 60 mL (¼ c.) of wildflower honey
Preparation steps
  1. In a saucepan, combine the berries and honey.
  2. Heat over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes or until the mixture is jammy in consistency (time may vary depending on berries used). Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Remove the liver pâté from the package and cut into 24 small cubes.
  4. Place a pâté cube in each pastry shell and top with a little of the jam. Add fresh herbs or sprouts to taste.
Note

Heat the pastry shells if desired. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes.
